The series is known for its characters and stories and the visual design of many aspects. One of the most popular of these models is the legendary Stormtrooper helmet. Worn by the soldiers of the Empire, this helmet has become very recognizable.
Learning how to draw a Stormtrooper helmet can also be fun, but it can also be challenging! We’re taking care of that today, but we recommend you read this tutorial to the end.
How to Draw A Stormtrooper Helmet
We’ll take things from above very literally when we start this guide on drawing a stormtrooper helmet. You can begin by drawing a long thin edge that runs the entire length of the helmet.
After drawing, you can add a curved line above it for the curved top of the helmet. The top of the helmet will be somewhat rounded, but the top will be a bit flat.
That’s all you need to do for this step, so now you’re prepared for the second stage of the direction!
For the second part of this Stormtrooper helmet design, we will draw the top left side of the helmet. First, we remove the left eye of the helmet. This takes on a triangular wedge shape with the thin part angled inward. This eye section will also have some detailing to give it some depth.
Then use a straight line for the top of that side of the helmet, extending into the filter portion on the bottom. You can complete this step by drawing some rounded shapes in the top left. If it looks like our reference image, we will continue to add to the helmet in the next part.
In this third step of our how-to draw a stormtrooper helmet guide, you’ll essentially mirror what you did in the previous step. This means you will draw another section of the eye along with the other parts of the top of the helmet.
When drawing these elements, please do your best to keep them as symmetrical as possible. You can finish this step by adding a curved line on the left side of the curved part of the top of the helmet. Then you can continue with step 4!
The following steps in this stormtrooper helmet design will finish the details and final elements. First, we start with the front part that goes over the nose.
This thin shape is drawn with two curved, wavy lines at each end. Next, draw some vertical lines along the inside of this flat shape. Next, we mark the beginning of the front opening of the helmet mouth part.
Draw a rounded section on the bottom right of the helmet, and then draw a small part protruding from a slight indentation in the area.
It may sound not very easy, but it becomes apparent when you refer to the reference image! Finish this step by drawing several thin vertical shapes of different heights side by side.
You can now complete the final details and elements in this step of our How to Draw a Stormtrooper Helmet guide. To start, you can mirror what you did in the last step to replicate the ventilation section for the other side of the bottom of the helmet.
When the helmet design is complete, we’ll finish by adding some curvy line details all over the helmet. These details help make the helmet a bit brighter. You can also continue this design by drawing an interesting background or additional information for the picture.
The final step of this stormtrooper helmet design is to top it off with some color! The classic Stormtrooper helmet design has a black-and-white color scheme.
You could choose a similar look for your drawing, but there are many variations between Star Wars movies and other media!
